  It’s that time of year again…Join the PTO

All families, new and old need to join the PTO for the 2017-2018 school year.  PTO Membership provides access to the website, calendars, directory, PTO email reminders and communications and PTO registrations and programming.  For more information regarding our PTO and the many programs we offer and fund for our school, look for PTO Corner and PTO Programs in the top menu

 


Important September Dates…It’s going to be a busy month!

8/31 – Teacher Meet & Greet for New Glenwood Families - 2:00-3:00 pm

9/5 - First Day of School - School Starts at 8:35 am

9/5 – Welcome Coffee & PTO Meeting #1 (MPR) - 9:00 am 

9/8 – New Family Coffee (home of Liz Goldberg)) - 9:00 am

9/12 – Back to School Night - 6:30-7:30 pm for K-2nd and 8:00-9:00 pm for 3rd-4th

9/18 - Fall Family Picnic (Glenwood Fields) - 5:30-7:30 pm (rain date 9/25)

9/20 – Principal’s Breakfast for K-4th (MPR) - 9:00 am

Volunteer Opportunities 2017-2018 OPEN

The list of programs offered to our children at Glenwood is long!  GASA, Special Lunch, Munching with the Masters, Field Day,  Glenwood Global Gala, Class Parents, Library, Fall Family Picnic, Cultural Arts, Variety Show, Walk-a-thon….we could go on forever! These are just some of the programs we offer, but none of these programs can be offered without your help.  Please consider being a committee chair or volunteer.  We still have spots to fill.  We need your help! 2017-2018 School Supplies Sale 

If you ordered school supplies prior to the August 4th deadline, your school supplies will be waiting for your child, in their classroom, on the first day of school.  All orders placed after August 4th will be delivered to school in the first week of school.


End of Year Note from the Treasurer - Final Call for PTO Expenses

As the school year is coming to an end, please submit any outstanding PTO expenses immediately. Click HERE for reimbursement forms. Completed forms may be delivered to the treasurers folder in the school office or emailed to treasurer@glenwoodpto.net. If you have any questions please contact Maria Patti or Heather Finan or treasurer@glenwoodpto.net. Thank you to all the parents and volunteers who supported and helped the PTO throughout the year.   

 


GASA Fall Classes Announced!

The Fall 2017 GASA session will begin September 18th.  There will be something for everyone from Chess and Cooking to Ninja Warrior and Lego Robotics.  Registration will begin Wednesday, September 6th at 9pm and end on Monday, September 11th at midnight.  Click HERE for the full fall schedule with descriptions.  Email Karrie and Nicole at gasa@glenwoodpto.net with questions.  

 

 


A Special Lunch Thank You

A huge THANK YOU to all the families who purchased any type of special lunch during this school year, and to all the families and friends who volunteered to serve lunch throughout this year! Special lunch is one of the largest fundraisers for the PTO. It allows the PTO to provide extra programs and services to our children and teachers. It cannot be done without you! Thank you.

Thank You from the Ed Foundation

THANK YOU to all supported the Ed Foundation of Millburn Short Hills this year! We again raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for all seven township schools, which would not have been possible without your support and hard work. Like us on Facebook to stay up-to-date on our events and projects in the schools.


Ed Foundation Grants

The Education Foundation of Millburn Short Hills thanks all who applied for grants this school year.  We celebrate your initiative and drive to enhance the education of our children! We received over $400,000.00 in applications for the 2016-17 Grant Season. Thanks to those who contributed,  joined, volunteered and participated in Ed Foundation events, we were able to fund $155,585 in grant requests.  Our fundraising work will continue so that in the future we will be able to grant an even greater percentage of applications.  We look forward to your continued support in 2017-2018. We would like to thank the Education Foundation of Millburn-Short Hills for the wonderful grants they awarded to Glenwood for some upgrades and advancements to our school! In 2017, we received $8,600 to fund the following: 

Sound Field Systems for 4 Classrooms
($4,000*)

GREEN STEAM Art/Technology Program
($4,600)

*PTO co-funded the remaining $2,752.73 for this Project
